Aaron "Sonny" Hunt, Jr. is a class of 2029 standout scholar athlete at Midway Middle School in Hewitt, TX. He excels in academics as well as football, basketball and track. Balancing rigorous pursuits in honors academic courses with athletic commitments and fine arts, he embodies the spirit of dedication, perseverance and leadership.
With an A/B average, Sonny has consistently demonstrated his dedication to academic excellence. He is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and plays the clarinet in the school's prestigious symphonic band where he was awarded an "All-Superior" rating. He participates in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is an active member of the Young Men's Service League.
As a key member of the basketball team, Sonny helped lead back-to-back undefeated seasons and earned MVP of the Kevin Gill holiday basketball tournament. He gained valuable experience and had a great time at the Phenom Jr. National basketball camp in Seal Beach, CA where he was named to the All-Defensive team. In track, he won the district title in the 1600m, 4X4 relay and back-to-back in the 800m. Sonny finished a phenomenal football season where the team finished as undefeated district champions.
Looking ahead, Sonny plans to advance in sports and pursue a degree in athletic training. With his strong work ethic and determination, there is no doubt that Sonny will achieve great things. His commitment to excellence in all areas of life sets a powerful example for his peers as well as future generations.

Sonny is impactful on both sides of the ball at receiver and inside linebacker. He also is a punt and kick returner.
Sonny is a true point guard that is known not only for his ability to see the court and make his teammates better, but also for his elite defense.
